ROBERT BEVERLY (SR.) BOIES
BOIES, ROBERT BEVERLY (SR.) Born in Burtts Corner, York County New Brunswick on December 11, 1940; passed away suddenly on May 29, 2009 in Nanaimo. Bob and his first wife Sheila moved their young family to Nanaimo August 1971 from Fredericton, NB. Bob is predeceased by his mother, Pearl Savage; sister, Anna Mae Poole; Step-father, Allan Savage and his father Verdun Boies. Bob is survived by his brother Paul (Madeline) Boies and sister Beverley (Phil) McCain, both from Fredericton, N.B.; his children: Kim (Norm) Maybin; Karen Boies; Kathy Boies; Rob Boies Jr. (Angela) and Andrea (Bill) Gamble; grandchildren, Matthew Maybin (Blaire), Daniel Brunet, Candice (Kane) Gutierrez; Timothy Maybin; Sarah Lauscher; Derek Lauscher; Adam Gamble; Scott Gamble; Great-grandson Dominik Gutierrez; nieces, Andrea Savage and Tara Poole- Hickman; nephews Trent Poole and Jason Boies and many relatives in New Brunswick. Bob worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the logging industry, working in a variety of camps on Vancouver Island, until he retired in 2003. Bob loved his golf, baseball, hockey (cursing the Canucks) and especially enjoyed the carpentry work he did after he retired. Bob will be lovingly remembered and missed. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local food bank in Bob's memory. A Celebration of Bob's life took place on Saturday, June 13, 2009, in Nanaimo. Bob's ashes will be brought back to Fredericton sometime in May 2010.
