ELMER F. CLANFIELD
CLANFIELD, ELMER F. The passing of Elmer Frederick Clanfield of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 4th, 2009. He was 93. Born in Douglas, NB on October 23rd, 1915 he was the son of the late Bradford and Ethel (Edwards) Clanfield. Elmer was a R.C.A.F. Veteran of WWII and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.4, Fredericton. His working career involved employment as a heavy equipment operator with the NB Department of Transportation and later was employed at the Fredericton Airport with the Federal Department of Transportation operating Walter Snowplows during the winter months and paving during the summer months. He is survived by a son David (Carolyn) of Keswick, Ontario; grandchildren Bonnie (Brad) Waddel, Theresa (André) Robert, Stephen Clanfield and Troy (Nicole) Clanfield; great grandchildren Adam Waddel, Yasmine Robert, Monique Robert, Gabrielle Clanfield and Zachary Clanfield; sister-in-law Isabelle (Alfie) Hamill; nieces Shiela (Lloyd) Bjork, Caroll Hamill (Tom Dunphy) and Linda (David H.) Kelly. Predeceased by his parents and wife Ruby (McCoombs) Clanfield (2004). Elmer's request for no visitation will be respected. A private graveside service will be held at the Douglas Rural Cemetery.
