GALLAGHER, CLAIR EUGENE The family of Clair Eugene Gallagher regretfully announces his passing after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Lorne and Edith (MacMillan) Gallagher of Williamsburg, NB. Clair was the youngest of nine children. He spent most of his working years in the lumbering industry, driving horse, skidder and trucks. Clair loved children. He enjoyed country music whether he was playing, singing or listening and enjoyed telling a good story. In addition to his wife, Ferne (Dorcas) Gallagher, Clair is survived by his children, Sylvia Frances MacKay (Timothy) of Williamsburg, NB and Roger Eugene Gallagher of Cambridge, ON; grandchildren, Nicholas Timothy and Kristina Michelle MacKay of Williamsburg, NB; brothers, Mack (Mariette) of Fredericton, NB, Lorne (Joan) of Williamsburg, NB; sisters, Marion Burnett, Cross Creek, NB, Lois MacLean (Rev. Robert R'td) of Fall River, NS; brother-in-law, Dr. Dow Dorcas (Marg) of Oakville, ON; mother-in-law, Noreen Dorcas of Windsor Court; several nieces and nephews; two special people, Shawn and Shannon Brittany. Besides his parents, Clair was predeceased by his grandson, Timothy Benji MacKay; sisters, Frances and Ruth; brothers, Calvin and Glenn. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Visitation on Saturday, July 11, 2009 after 1 pm at the St. Peter's Presbyterian Church, Stanley, NB followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Kimberly Barlow officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be nephews, Jim, Terry and Richard Flanagan, Dwayne and Mike Gallagher and Sandy Fullarton. Interment will take place in Williamsburg Community Cemetery. Reception will follow at the church. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society, Williamsburg Community Cemetery or the charity of the donor's choice.
