THOMAS, SHIRLEY ARLENE The passing of Shirley Arlene Thomas of Cardigan, NB, occurred on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 6, 1936 in Cardigan, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Evans) Thomas. Shirley worked for Motor Vehicle, CN Rail and the Daily Gleaner over a 45 year career. Shirley is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Thomas of Cardigan, NB; brothers, Glenwood (Pearl) of Cardigan, NB and Wendell (Theresa) of Fredericton, NB; nieces and nephews, Debbie (Zoran), Christine (Bob), Edward (Andrea), Bev (Dave) and Michael (Nancy); 13 great nieces and nephews; four great great nieces and nephews and several cousins. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Murray McFarlane officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be great nephews, Josh, Billy, Jake, Dusty, Jesse, Steve and Peter; Honourary Pallbearers will be great nieces, Amanda, Abby, Elisabeth Rebekah, Sarah and Shauna. Interment will take place in North Cardigan United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the North Cardigan United Church Cemetery Fund.
