MERRITHEW, LOIS MAUDE The passing of Lois Maude Merrithew, wife of the late Douglas Merrithew, formerly of Keswick, NB, occurred on July 11, 2009 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born on January 21, 1911 in Tripp Settlement, NB, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Alberta (Wallace) Haines. Lois was a member of Keswick United Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for a number of years and was president of the Women's Missionary Society. Lois is survived by her daughter, Sharon Scott (Murray) of Fredericton, NB; brother, Raymond Haines (Hilda); two sisters-in-law, Marion Merrithew and Gloria Haines; four grandchildren, Joel (Pam), Penny Scott, Jennifer-Jo MacNeill (Peter) and Angelina Mann (Shane); nine great grandchildren, Karla, Miguel, Monika and Kristina Serrano, Tristan Scott, Jackson and Violet MacNeill, Tye and Hailey Mann; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Vila Griffiths and Hattie Armstrong; two brothers, Frank and Albert Haines; sister-in-law, Phyllis Gilmore; bothers-in-law, Gordon and Oswald (Effie) Merrithew. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Keswick United Baptist Church, Keswick, NB on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. James Webber officiating. Interment will take place at Pickard Merrithew Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Pickard Merrithew Cemetery or to the Keswick Women's Missionary Society would be appreciated.
