SENCHYNA, ALEXANDER Alexander Senchyna passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB on July 15, 2009 at the age of 96. He was born on May 27, 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Remsen, New York and received BA and MA degrees from the University of Wisconsin. Most of his 39 years with Alcan Aluminum were spent at the Montreal headquarters in various executive positions. The last 16 years of his life were spent in Fredericton, NB. He is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine Hamilton Senchyna; two sisters, Anne and Leona; his daughters, Sandra Hopkins (John), Alice Reed-Gorski (Edward), Lorraine Hickey (Thomas); his grandchildren, Claire (Chris) Cavatorta, Patrick Hopkins, Ted (Karen) Reed, Sean (Janice), Alex (Shelley), Jennifer (Pat), David and Andrew Hickey as well as seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Irene Propheta Senchyna. Al was a man of boundless energy, interests and talents who was happiest helping others. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. A private family service will take place at a later date. Donations in Alexander's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
