BREWER, GREGORY "GREG" OSCAR The passing of Gregory "Greg" Oscar Brewer of Zealand, NB, husband of Valarie Brewer, after a brief encounter with leukemia, occurred on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on April 7, 1951 in Zealand, NB, he was the son of Mona (Crouse) Brewer and the late Rupert Brewer. Greg was employed at Mactaquac Park for 33 years. In the last five years he was part of the York Funeral Home staff and did merchandising work. In years past, Greg was involved with the Lion's Club and held many active positions. When Greg became a member of God's family, he was very active in many churches. In his music ministry, he played guitar and loved to sing for the Lord. For ten years, Greg was a member of the Gospel Quartet "The Revival Men". He was an active member in the Christian Men's Fellowship Group for many years. Once a month he enjoyed going to York Manor Nursing Home with his singing friends and bringing comfort to the residents through music. Greg was a member of Staples Settlement Baptist Church where he played an active roll in the music ministry and all aspects of the church. In whatever roll he did in life, he did it with all his heart and soul. Greg loved life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his loving wife and mother, Greg is survived by his children, Rob (Amanda), Ryan (Stephanie) and Kyndal (Peter); four precious grandchildren, Eve, Cohen, Nate and Hailey; sister, Pam (Dave); brothers, Andrew (Sharon) and Guthrie (Eileen); aunt Marina and her family; four nieces; special cousin, Sherry (Ron) Cyr and their family and many more friends and family. Besides his father, Greg was predeceased by his loving grandparents. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Greenhill Lake Bible Camp on Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Watson Williams. Interment will take place in St. Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery, Zealand, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Leukemia), Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Staples Settlement Baptist Church or Greenhill Lake Bible Camp.
