SAUNDERS, CARL LESLIE Age 65, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2009, at home, surrounded by family. Born in Fredericton, N.B., he was a son of the late Ian Saunders and surviving mother, Faye Saunders (Estey). Carl spent a long and successful career with Co-operators Insurance Services, and held many positions in numerous insurance and financial planning organizations. Never at a loss to stop and tell a story, he always left people with a laugh and a smile. An avid golfer he was a member of the Hartlen Point Golf Course for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Ginette "Ginny" Gagnon; son, Michael, Vancouver, B.C.; daughter, Melissa (Morgan), Halifax; son-in-law, Rob, Halifax; granddaughters Molly, and Isabella, and grandson, Bowing. He will also be greatly missed by sisters, Shirley Munn (Cedric), Audrey Joudrey, and brother, Lyle Saunders (Laura); sister-in-law, Rina Hamper (Bill), and brothers-in-law, Rene Gagnon (Fern), Paul Lopez, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant children, Lisa, Anthony, and Shelley. The family would like to extend it's sincere thanks and gratitude to the medical and non-medical staff for their professional and compassionate care during Carl's illness. Also thank you to family, friends and neighbours for their love and support. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and witness of Carl Leslie Saunders will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday Aug. 11th at Christ Church Parish Church (Chapel) Westmorland St. Fredericton NB with reception to follow.
