81, Florence It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Chalmers Jessome, Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Florence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jenny (MacSween) Jessome. He was employed as a coal miner with Devco until his retirement. Chalmers is survived by his wife, Nina; four children, Lois Jessome (David Curran), Sydney, Patsy (Maurice) Tobin, Ontario, Fred (Tonia), Balls Creek, Bill (Ellen Bonaparte), Westmount; brother, Austin ‘Sam’ (Ester) Jessome, Sydney; as well as nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Patricia and brothers, Terry, Bill and Louie. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
