ALLEN, ERNEST "ERNIE" ADOLPHUS The passing of Ernest "Ernie" Adolphus Allen, of Penniac, NB, occurred on August 10, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 15, 1914 in Penniac, NB he was a son of the late Ernest and Nellie (King) Allen. Ernest was a member of Cross Point Wesleyan Church. Ernie was a hunter and trapper. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Montreal Canadians Fan. Lacking children of his own; Ernie had many chosen grandchildren. Ernie is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Allen of Penniac, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Theodore, Bryden, Wendell, Oscar and Arthur Allen; sisters, Gertie Stafford, Pearl Hanson and Eleanor Allen. Although there will be no visitation, a Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 2 pm with Pastor Lona Johnston officiating. Interment will take place in the Penniac United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Chrysalis House or the Transition House would be appreciated by the family.
