74, Birch Grove It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Raymond Hiscock on April 24, 2008, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Birch Grove, Nov. 1, 1933, Raymond was the son of the late George and Hazel (King) Hiscock. Raymond was a coal miner working in Broughton, No. 26 and retiring from Lingan Colliery in 1989. He was a very quiet family man who enjoyed the games of baseball and hockey and fishing, hunting, gardening and berry picking. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. Raymond looked forward to his yearly Lake O’Law vacation with his family and his nightly visits to the garage with his buddies. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Catherine Boutilier; his two daughters, Anne-Louise (Keith) Wilcox and Raylene MacLean; and the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Mathew and Jennifer, Stephen Kelloway and Kaelene. He is also survived by his brother, Reg (Joan), Ontario; and best buddy and brother-in-law, Freddie Boutilier; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, brothers, Harry, Ross and Al and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Visitation for the late Raymond Hiscock will take place at Patten Funeral Home and Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520, Saturday, April 26 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral to take place Monday, April 28 at 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Marconi Street, Glace Bay.
