DORCAS, HELEN M. The passing of Helen M. Dorcas, wife of the late Carl Bertie Dorcas, of North Bay, ON, occurred peacefully on August 30, 2009 at the North Bay General Hospital, ON. Born on December 19, 1926 in Stanley, NB, she was a daughter of the late Llewellyn and Maude (Piercy) Butler. Helen greatly enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was an avid Bingo and card player. She was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Nevins of Brampton, ON, Carol Dorcas of North Bay, ON; two sons, Richard (Cindy) Dorcas of North Bay, ON, Terry Dorcas of North Bay, ON; two daughter-in-laws, Carol Dorcas of Prince George, BC, Rose Dorcas of Williamsburg, NB; eight grandchildren, Gord, Courtney and Zeke Nevins, Kim (Scott) Murphy, Charleigh, Matthew, Rebecca and Jared Dorcas; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by two sons, Lawrence and Arnold Dorcas; four sisters, Frances, Dorothy, Delores and Verna; two brothers, Leslie and Lawrence. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. Interment will take place at Williamsburg Community Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
