KENNETH VINTON CHEDORE

CHEDORE, KENNETH VINTON Kenneth Vinton Chedore passed away Tuesday, Sept.1/09 at Campbellton Nursing Home surrounded by his family at the age of 88. Born in Campbellton on Nov. 7, 1920, he was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Bryant); his parents, Philip V. Chedore and Mary Elizabeth (Dow) Chedore; his brothers, Stanley, Ralph, Raymond and Roderick, and his sisters, Ruby Robinson, Olive Harding and Daisy Shalala. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by daughter, Marsha Crawford (Kim), Liverpool, N.S.; his son Gary (Marsha Horrelt), Black Point and his daughter, Lynn Chedore (Michael Young), Fredericton, N.B.; six grandchildren, Zachary, Meghann and Lauren Crawford and Michelle, Geoffrey, and Brandon Chedore, and many nieces and nephews. He worked as a psychiatric attendant at the Restigouche Hospital Centre for 21 years until his retirement in 1980. He loved to dance and continued to do so even after his knee replacements. He also played several instruments including piano, guitar and his Hammond organ. Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept 3/09 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be on Friday, Sept.4, 2009, at 11 am at Maher's Funeral Chapel with internment following the service at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his six grandchildren. A reception will be held following the internment at First United Church, Campbellton. A special thank-you to Karen Belliveau, Cindy Willett, Cecile Parent, Debra Landry, Dennis Malloy and the other staff at the Campbellton Nursing Home who gave such excellent care to Dad, especially during his difficult last days. Donations may be made to the Campbellton Nursing Home (Village), the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
