1918-2008 Glace Bay It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Elizabeth Lecreux, 90, of Tower Road. Margaret passed away at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex on Friday, April 25, 2008. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (McNeil) Deering. Margaret was a longstanding member of St. Anthony’s Church, Glace Bay and community groups in the area. She was a loving and caring person. She would never say no to a game of cards, a trip to the casino or an outing anywhere. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, Dorothy Purchase, Kitchener, Ont., Frances Livingstone, Toronto, Ont.; sons, Louis (Rodena), Michael, both of Tower Road, Ted, Toronto, Ont., and Lawrence (Deborah), Eureka, N.S.; 20 cherished grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Lecreux, Kitchener, Ont., Sandy Lecreux, Toronto Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Louis, sons, Henry, Dennis, sisters, Christine, Myrtle, Georgina, Ann, brothers, John, Norman, Ivan, Michael, George, granddaughter, Margaret Ann McKenzie and great-grandson, Brian Moore. Visitation for Margaret Lecreux will be held Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
