WILMA C. TAPLIN

TAPLIN, WILMA C. The passing of Wilma Claire (Walters) Taplin occurred peacefully at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB on the morning of September 17, 2009, with her family at her side. Born in Fallis, AB on June 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Frederick Walters and the late Lula Heath Walters Lee, and step-daughter of the late Edmund James Lee. "Billie" served during WWII in the Canadian Women's Army Corps from 1942-45 at Currie Barracks, Calgary, AB, attaining the rank of Corporal. In 1948 she met and married her late husband, Maj. (ret) Lester (Les) Everett James Taplin, (1917-2000). Les served overseas from 1939-46 with The Loyal Edmonton Regiment and the North Shore (NB) Regt. She was a homemaker and later an Office Manager. Billie and Les are survived by their sons, Brock (Karen) of Williams Lake, BC, Brent (Susan) of Fredericton, NB and Bruce (Wendy) of Kelowna, BC; granddaughters, Shannon of Fredericton, NB and Andrea (David) of Cold Lake, AB; great grandsons, Maquire and Tristen Robinson. We wish to thank all the wonderful staff and family at the Pine Grove Nursing Home, your loving care, respect and attention given to Wilma during her residence there will never be forgotten. At her family's request, there will be no visitation; a private interment will take place. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Pine Grove Nursing Home.
