KENNETH WILLIAM BANKS
BANKS, KENNETH WILLIAM It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our dear Dad, grandfather and great-grandfather Kenny, who passed away September 25th, 2009 at the Oromocto Public Hospital at the age of 81. Born in Swan Creek on June 10, 1928, Kenny was the son of the late Charles and Gladys (Hatch) Banks, and the husband of the late Dorothy (Allen ) Banks. As a young boy Kenny worked on Hubbards Farm in Burton, also he worked at Devon Lumber Company and done woods work. At the age of 15 he moved to Saint John and worked at Williamsons Ship Yard. Later he returned to Upper Gagetown working for Dexter's Truck Driving. In 1987 he retired from DND where he was a carpenter for over 29 years. He loved to farm, from large gardens to raising cattle and keeping a horse. Moose hunting was a very special time for him which he enjoyed at his camp with family and friends. Kenny was a member of Upper Gagetown United Baptist Church. Kenny is survived by sons, Terry, Bernie (Judy) Banks and one daughter, Susan Morehouse (Brian); grandsons, Mark and David Banks, Phillip Morehouse; great-grandchildren, Melissa Bouchier, and Marshall Banks. He is also survived by sisters, Inez Hamilton, Ruth (Charlie) Wilson, Janet McElman, Lois (Bob) Hodnett; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Leona Ashburne. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, September 28th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Upper Gagetown United Baptist Church on September 29th, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Mark Todd officiating. The Interment will take place at the Church Cemetery.
