ALDEN, ALBERTA "BERTIE" It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alberta "Bertie" Alden. Bertie passed away at the Mill Cove Nursing on Sunday, September 27th, 2009. Bertie was born Alberta Ethel Warburton, February 6th, 1925 at Sandhill, Quebec, daughter of William Herbert Warburton and Alice Annie (Meloy) Warburton. Bertie married Delbert "Bill" Alden on October 17, 1942 in Island Brooke, Quebec. They had a family of two boys and soon after moved to Dorchester, Ontario. In 1971 Bertie and Bill moved from Ontario to Youngs Cove, New Brunswick. Bertie worked many years at McCreadys Restaurant as a cook. She was known far and wide for her fabulous homemade pies. Along with cooking Bertie loved music, knitting and doting on her family, especially her two grandchildren and in later years, great grandchildren. Bertie is predeceased by her husband, Bill who passed away in 1991 and by her eldest son, Ernest who passed away the following year. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Dorchester Union Cemetery in Ontario. She will be deeply missed. Memorial donations may be made online at www.oromoctofh.com
