52, Mabou It is with deep sadness we announce the death of our sister, Alanna, who passed away peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Inverness, Nov. 10, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Alex Angus and Mary Florence (Gillis) MacEachen, Mabou. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Mabou. Alanna had been a guest of the Braemore Home of Sydney River for the past 18 years. Surviving are sisters, Josephine Marie Carlton; brothers, Ewen (Cathy), Daniel, Raymond (Deniese), Mabou, Gerard (Ellen), Inverness, Fr. Lawrence, Montreal, David (Darlene), Calgary; sister-in-law, Jan MacEachen, Mabou; several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Predeceased by her sister, Francine and brothers, Angus Donald and Francis. Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Church Vestry on Monday, April 28, from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Mabou, on Wednesday, April 30 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Angus Morris and Fr. Lawrence MacEachen officiating. Burial to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care Unit #4E Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney or to a charity of one’s choice.
