SMITH , JOHN (JACK) DAVID Born October 2nd, 1932 passed away Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 after a brief illness at the Everett Chalmers Hospital. Jack established SELCO Equipment Sales Ltd., a heavy equipment distributor in New Brunswick for over 35 years. In recent years he took great pride in succession of his business to new owners. His personal interests included a sincere love of his family, politics, gardening and a love for animals especially his faithful companion, Sarah. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all friends and family. Jack is survived by his wife, Irma of 54 years; son, David (Caroll) and granddaughters, Sally and Molly; two brothers, Stephen (Judy) and Murray; and sister, Gail (Drew). Predeceased by his father, Clifford and mother, Laura in early years Jack was also predeceased by his son, Peter; sister, Barbara; and step- mother Mabel. The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 5th, 2009 at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel at 11:00 am with The Very Rev. Keith Joyce officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
