LACKIE, ROYDEN ADELBERT The death of Royden Adelbert Lackie, loving husband of Esther (Martin) Lackie occurred peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1929 in Saint John he was the son of the late Samuel Royden and Mary Emma (Houston) Lackie. Royden worked as a Pressman for Lingley Printing Company for 45 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Musicians Union and Printers Union. In addition to his loving wife Esther of 57 years, he is survived by his son, Glen R. Lackie (Nancy) of Saint John; grandchildren, Danny Lackie (Tarra), Cory Lackie (Lindsay), AJ Lackie, Angela White, Andrea White and Andrew White; great grandchildren, JR White, Oliva-Rose Lackie and Jayda-Lee Lackie; brother, Allen Lackie (Sandra) of Saint John; sisters, Muriel Hampton of Quispamsis and Eleanor Tayes (John) of Hampton; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, Wayne Douglas Lackie. Following cremation, the funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 3:00 pm.
