R. J. DUNCAN DESLAURIER

DESLAURIER, R. J. DUNCAN The family sadly announces the passing of a devoted husband, father and granddad at the Oromocto Public Hospital on October 7th, 2009. Duncan leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Gloria (Marks), loved daughter, Karen and son-in-law, Blair Furlotte and grandsons, Chad and Tyler Furlotte. Also survived by sister, Irene Mayhew; brother, Earl DesLaurier; sister-in law, Juanita and her husband, Doug Dymond; brother-in-law, Gary and his wife, Isabel Marks; brother-in-law, William Miller; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda; sister, Dorothy Miller; parents, John and Mary DesLaurier. Duncan enjoyed life, particularly spending time with his family and friends. He loved to bowl, sing and play the harmonica. He also enjoyed working on his computer. He was an active member of the Wesley United Church in Lincoln where he sang in the choir, was an Elder and church treasurer. He was a former board of Director for the Fredericton Direct Charge Co-op. He had a very special relationship with his grandsons Chad and Tyler, and was an awesome granddad. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th from 7 to 9 pm and again on Friday, October 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road. Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 10th at 3 pm from The Wesley United Church in Lincoln with Rev Brian MacDonald officiating. Interment in the Lower Lincoln Cemetery.
