BROOME, NELLIE JOYCE The passing of Nellie Joyce Broome of Fredericton, NB, wife of Albert "Al" Broome, occurred on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 23, 1932 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence "Mike" and Alma (Sharpe) White. She was a member of Kingsclear Baptist Church. Nellie enjoyed church and playing bridge with her friends. In addition to her husband, Nellie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Broome (Frank MacDonald) of Halifax, NS; son, Mark Broome (Mona Lanteigne and her children, Stephanie and Michelle) of Fredericton, NB; sister, June Clark (Norval); brother, Dale White (Ruby) both of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nellie was predeceased by several aunts and uncles. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Pallbearers for the service are Tim Piercy, Don McNeill, Sterling Brown, Donnie Carvell, Shawn Bringloe and James Ramier. Interment will take place in Prince William Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA, Canadian Cancer Society or the Liberty Lane Inc.
