TOY, PHOEBE "ELIZABETH" Peacefully at Ridgeview Manor, Pennfield NB on October 25, 2009, Miss P. Elizabeth Toy, formerly of St. George NB. Born at St. George on December 19, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Alvah and Phoebe (O'Brien) Toy. A loving sister, aunt and friend, she is survived by one brother, Eugene A. Toy of St. George, one brother in law, James Waycott of Fredericton NB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Edwin and by one sister, Frances Waycott. Elizabeth of was lifelong resident of St. George and was very active with the local Historical Society. At the age of 92, she co-authored a book with David Goss titled "St. George and Its Neighbours". She was a member of the St. George Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society. For most of her working life she was a correspondent for the local area, working for the Telegraph Journal, The Daily Gleaner and the Quoddy Tides. Resting at the St. George Baptist Church, from where the service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the church on Monday from 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Elizabeth's memory, donations to the St. George Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
