HOWELL, CAROL "JOY" It is with great sadness that the family of Carol "Joy" Howell announce her passing on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 50. Joy was born in Saint John, NB. For four years Joy walked the hard road of sickness with profound courage, faith and dignity. She attended the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church and was actively involved with the church Praise Team. Joy worked alongside her husband Paul in the family business as Bookkeeper and Secretary for Howell Logging. A loving and devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 28 years, Paul R. Howell and children, Laura J. Howell and Timothy P. Howell all of Hanwell, NB. She was the cherished and much loved daughter of Rev. Jim and Ferne (Nickerson) Lewis of Rusagonis and will be dearly missed by her brother, Roger Lewis (Stephanie) of Hanwell. Also survived by her niece, Diana Lewis of Fredericton; mother-in-law, Frances Howell of Kingsclear as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of friends. Her nephew, Matthew Roger Lewis and father-in-law, Herbert Howell predeceased Joy. Visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church, 15 Mazerolle Settlement Road, Upper Kingsclear. A celebration of Joy's life will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm from Smythe Street Cathedral, 913 Smythe St., Fredericton. Rev. Jim Lewis and Rev. Allan Myshrall will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kingsclear Baptist Cemetery. Following the graveside committal service a reception will be held at the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Neil McLellan, Kelly Lewis, Dennis Patterson, Dale Gilby, Terry Loughead and Wayne Scott. Contributions to Life Outreach International (Water for Life) in memory of Joy would be greatly appreciated by the family. The family wish to express a most sincere "thank you" to everyone at the Chalmers Regional Hospital and the Oromocto Public Hospital who lovingly cared for Joy, "No Complaints".
