FLOWERS, MARY "CARLOTTA" It is with great sadness that the family of Mary "Carlotta" Flowers announce her passing on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Carlotta was born in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton in 1933. She showed such faith and sweetness of spirit in dealing with her sickness over the past 8 months. She never once complained, but rather continued to trust God and pour out her love on her family. She was a beloved part of the Capital Community Church family in Fredericton for many years. A loving and devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gerald E. Flowers and her children Wayne Flowers (Brenda), Beverley Woodward (Raymond) and Michael Flowers (Tammy) all from the Fredericton area. Carlotta loved her family dearly. Her husband Gerry was the love of her life and her best friend. Her children were her pride and joy and her grandchildren held such a special place in her heart. Her grandchildren are Rachelle Trail (Christopher), Justin Flowers, Emily Hennessy (Ryan), Matthew Woodward, Courtney Flowers, Austin Flowers, and Kailey Flowers. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Dora Harrietha of Cape Breton, and by two brothers Leonard Harrietha and Clarence Harrietha. She will be dearly missed by her brother Adrian Harrietha (Sharon) and sisters Rose Johnson (Eldon) of Cape Breton and Violet "Babes" Jarvis (Ted) of Ontario. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including a special niece that was close to her, Thelma Solomine (Carmen) as well as two wonderful sisters-in-law, Tilly Harrietha and Joyce Harrietha. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Capital Community Church, 81 Downing St. Fredericton. A celebration of Carlotta's life will be held Thursday, November 12th at 1:00 pm from Capital Community Church. Rev. Raymond Woodward will officiate assisted by Rev. Joe Beesley. Interment in the Ripples Community Cemetery at 4 pm. Pallbearers will be Ervin Tapley, Don Mowat, Leonard MacBeth, Edward McCoy, Weldon Ackerson and Floyd Ackerson. Contributions to the Ripples Community Cemetery in memory of Carlotta would be greatly appreciated by the family. The family wish to express a sincere "thank you" to everyone at the Chalmers Regional Hospital who lovingly cared for Carlotta. She received excellent care. She especially appreciate and thought so much of her family physician Dr. Gordon Plummer. Nothing will ever take away the special memories of family times we all enjoyed.
