MCCLEAN, HELEN (NEE HARDER) JULY 30, 1921 - NOVEMBER 2, 2009 Helen McClean of Calgary AB. passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the age of 88. Helen was born on July 30, 1921 in Calgary. She was a dedicated mother, and an avid sewer. Helen was widowed at a young age. She successfully raised and supported her five children, while living in Fredericton. Helen was a familiar figure in Fredericton sewing circles, through her many years at Creaghan's Dept. Store. Helen returned to her native Calgary in 1996, to be near her children living there. Helen is survived by her children, Roma (Greg) Hickey, Anna-Marie (Richard) Young, Lani Hamilton, Penny (Bruce) Horne and Ken (Marg) McClean; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters and other extended family. Helen was predeceased by her husband Ken, a brother and three sisters. A memorial service will be held at the Botanic Gardens, Fredericton (entrance off of Prospect St.), on Friday, November 13 at 2:00PM. In the event of inclement weather the memorial service will be held in the Victoria room of the Delta Hotel Fredericton. A reception will follow at the Delta Fredericton, Victoria Room.
