HOPE, LELA R. The passing of Lela Rose Hope occurred Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 95. Born May 3, 1914 in Benton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wellington George and Annie Elizabeth (Speer) Rogers. Lela was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, Fredericton and was actively involved in the church community. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her parents, husband Robert Whitfield Hope and brothers Hedley, Murray, Robert, Clayton and Lee Rogers all predeceased her. Lela is survived by her son Dana Hope (Chris Lorey) of Fredericton; nieces, nephews and many good friends. Although there will be no public visitation, friends are welcome to join the family for a service of remembrance to be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 4:30 PM. Rev. Karl Ingersoll will officiate. Burial will be private. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Lela would be appreciated by the family.
