94, Sydney Anna Bertha Stewart, 94, a resident of the Cove Guest Home, formerly George Street, Sydney, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late George and Florence (Clattenburg) Clements. Surviving are her daughters, Sylvia (Ted) Carroll, Halifax, and Linda Gaudett (Gordon Brenton), Glace Bay; sons, Bill (Liz) and Ed (Rachelle), Ontario, Wayne (Nancy), Halifax, and Blair (Susan), Sydney; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Bertha was predeceased by her husband, William, daughter, Edith, sisters, Pearl, Amy and Ina, brothers, Wallace, Clarence, John, George and Percy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel, Monday 10 a.m., with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating.
