LOUIS SWETSKY
SWETSKY, LOUIS Louis Swetsky passed away December 10th, 2009 peacefully in his 88th year. He was born in Saint John, NB, the son of Sarah and Benjamin Swetsky. He was predeceased by his brother, Hyman Swetsky and sister, Freda Budovitch Appel. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys (née Lubek); his son, Eric of Toronto; daughter, Barbara Sloan; son-in-law, Ronald Sloan and grandson, Harrison Sloan of Toronto; sister, Pearl Steinberg (Joseph) of Montreal and many nieces and nephews. Lou was the owner of Tiny Tots Wear on York Street and Teenager & Career Fashions on Regent Street for 39 years and was well known and respected by his clientele. He was a member of the Sgoolai Israel Synagogue, past president of B'nai B'rith and past member of the Rotary Club of Fredericton. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and became a Flying Officer. Many thanks to Dr. Claus Schaus and Dr. Ian MacDonald for the wonderful care they gave Lou over the years - their care was so appreciated by Lou and Gladys. Also many thanks to the staff of the 4th floor of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for their care giving. Funeral service will be held Friday, December 11th, 2009 at 3 pm at McAdam's Funeral Home on York Street. No flowers by request. www.mcadamsfh.com
