PAUL, NICHOLAS - 1949-2009 Nick Paul of Tobique First Nation passed away suddenly at his home on December 14, 2009. Born in Tobique First Nation on April 2, 1949 he was the son of the late Charles and Jean (Keegan) Paul. Nick leaves behind his wife Carla (Perley) Paul; his daughter Claudia (Robert) Bragdon of Fredericton; his sons Robert Perley of Hinton, AB, Kendall Perley (Mary Paul) of Fredericton, Nicholas Paul (Jennifer) of Fredericton; his sisters Christine Joscak of Tobique First Nation, Cindy Gaffney (Ron) of Fredericton, Pam Sappier (Brad) of Perth-Andover; his brothers Chief Stewart Paul (Sandra) of Tobique First Nation, Lindsay Paul (Laurie) of Fredericton and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Nicholas W. Paul Jr. Nick has a Master's degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University. He was a band councilor for 10 years at Tobique First Nation, he worked as the director of the Health Program, and in more recent years as director of Employment Development and Training for Tobique First Nation. Resting at his home, 34 Loop Road, Tobique First Nation, starting on Wednesday at 11 am until the time of the funeral. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 1 pm from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier officiating, assisted by Father Gilbert Doddatto.
