MOGARD, HAZEL G. It is with saddened hearts that the family of Hazel Geraldine Mogard of Fredericton announce her passing on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. She was 82. Born August 16, 1927 in Arthurette, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Glendora (MacFarlane) Cole. Hazel worked for Sears Canada for a number of years and was a member of Devon Park Baptist Church. Hazel is survived by one daughter, Deborah Somers of Moncton; grandsons Robert Somers of Moncton and Jonathan Mogard of Halifax; sisters Georgia Savage of Fredericton, Cora Barrett (Malcolm) of Woodstock, NB, Donna O'Neill of Plaster Rock and a half-sister Ruth Albrecht of Ontario. Predeceased by her beloved husband Carl M. Mogard; son Terry; sisters Glenna Mazerall, Iris Boyd and half-sister Rose Smith. Although there will be no public visitation hours, friends are welcome to join the family at the funeral service for Hazel which will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Friday, January 1, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Lawrence Meade will officiate. Interment in the Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. Contributions to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Hazel would be appreciated by the family.
