URSULA MARGARET (STEEVES) STANLEY GIBERSON

GIBERSON, URSULA MARGARET (STEEVES) STANLEY, NEW BRUNSWICK - Ursula Margaret (Steeves) Giberson of Stanley, New Brunswick, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Ursula is survived by her husband of 54 years, Philip; two children Karl (Myrna) Giberson and Nancy (Stephen) Everett; six grandchildren Sara, Laura, Janie (Cory), John (Melissa), Jackie and Jesse; one great grandchild Landon; and several nieces and nephews. Ursula is predeceased by her sister Shirley Lounsbury and her parents Karl and Edna (Boyd) Steeves of Lower Coverdale. She graduated from Moncton High School in 1946 and Teacher's college in 1950, where she won the Medal of Distinction for achievement in English. Her love of literature led her to spend many of her days writing poems and short stories, and teaching to all ages in both churches and schools. She was deeply loved by her family who remember the sacrificial way she contributed to the lives of those around her while asking so little in return. She will be profoundly missed. Visitation will be at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 2 to 4 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 pm. Funeral service will take place at Cross Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating and Rev. Norman Woodworth assisting. In lieu of flowers donations in Ursula's name can be made to the Stanley High School breakfast program or the Nashwaak Villa. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
