FLINN, MARGARET FREDA It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Margaret Freda Flinn of McLeod Hill, NB, wife of Edward C. Flinn which occurred peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 19, 1934 in Estey's Bridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Cecilia (Corderey) Currie. Margaret graduated from Fredericton High School in 1951 and attended Teachers' College; she received her Bachelor of Teaching in 1978 from UNB. A dedicated teacher for 32 years, she taught in several schools in the Fredericton area, but spent most of her career at Nashwaaksis Memorial School from which she retired in 1989. During her retirement, she and Eddie enjoyed many years travelling extensively to Australia and New Zealand, South and Central America, the Caribbean, and England as well as across Canada. Margaret was an active member of her church, having taught Sunday school and served on various committees. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Estey's Bridge Seniors' Group. In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by her children, Cheryl Robertson (Keith) of Fredericton, NB, Kevin Flinn of Calgary, AB and Denise Levesque (Michel) of Bedford, NS; four grandchildren, Margaret and Kathryn Robertson, Danielle and Christopher Levesque; chosen granddaughter, Juthathip Kruanopphakhun; sisters, Inez Moore of Royal Road, NB and Florence Hawkins (Max) of Scotchtown, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, John, Gerald and Douglas Currie. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, January 8, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Main Street on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2 pm with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the St. John the Evangelist Church - Building Fund, Alzheimer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
