HARRISON, GEORGE ROBERT The death of George Robert "Bob" Harrison of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on January 12th, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 15th, 1923 in Fredericton, NB. He was the son of the late Percy and Stella (Leslie) Harrison and the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Potter for 58 years. Bob attended UNB before joining the army and serving Canada. Over the years, he played trumpet in various orchestras as well as being a lifetime member of the Smokey Mokes. He volunteered for Chimo, Meals on Wheels and the St. John Ambulance for which he received the Serving Brother Medal. He was a life member of the Golden Club. After many years in small businesses he retired as purchasing Manager for the NB Liquor Corp. He owned and operated Harrison's Video Business with his son Leslie for many years. He spent many happy summers camping with his family and was happiest when surrounded by them. He was the beloved father of Cheryl Chapman (Curtis)of Fredericton, Roberta "Bobbie" (Peter) Emerson of Rothesay, NB, Leslie Harrison (Kaye Foreman) of Fredericton and Bruce (Sherrie) Harrison of Harvey; the beloved grandfather of Cheli (Maurice) Richard of Fredericton, Adam (Jodi) Pond of Riverglade, NB, Noah (Trudy) Pond of Oromocto, Tobi Emerson (Mike McNamee) of Quispamsis, NB Mitchell (Tracey) Emerson of Rothesay and Kyle Harrison of Harvey; step grand - daughter, Stacy James; Step grandson, Daniel Wright; great grandfather of Colin and Logan Richard, Samuel and Grace Roach, Madison and McKenzie Pond, Allison and Nicholas Pond and Alex Emerson. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York St., on Thursday, January 14th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday January 15th, 2010 at 11:00 am with the Archdeacon John Sharpe. Interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at the later date.
