MOFFATT, JOHN DAVID 1930 - 2010 The death of John David Moffatt, husband of Doreen, of Moncton occurred at his residence on Sunday January 17th 2010. Born in Toronto, June 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Peter Arthur and Florella (Holder) Moffatt. John had been a member of St. James Anglican and St Phillips Anglican Churches where he was active in both church choirs; he was also a member of Chorale Allouette Choir. John had retired as President of Atlantic Business Forms, he was a former board member of the Junior Achievement, past president of the Moncton Rotary Club, a member of the Moncton Probus Club; the Fredericton Old Kootz Club; the Cains River Business Institute; Moncton Business Round Table; Associated Investments Inc; an honorary lifetime member of the PC Party of New Brunswick, he was also an avid bridge and piano player and an accomplished gourmet cook. In addition to his wife Doreen he is survived by two daughters Sarah of Kaslo BC; Lisanne (Martin) Mueller and their children Christiana and Meaghan of Calgary; two sons Peter (Debbie) and their children Louis, David and Sam of Halifax and David (Georgette) and their children Luke and Thomas of Riverview. The last surviving member of his immediate family John was predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary Lou Moffatt-King. There will not be any visiting hours prior to the funeral service which will be held on Saturday, January 23 at 1:00 pm at St. Phillips Anglican Church 30 Lynch Street Moncton followed by a reception in the church hall. The family would like to thank the Extra Mural Services-Driscoll Unit as well as the Oncology Department at The Moncton Hospital for the excellent care provided to John during his illness. In lieu of flowers donations in John's memory made to the Moncton SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
