GILLIES (nee WAYE), BARBARA LYNNE On January 24th, 2010, I had to say good-bye to my best friend and wife Lynne. Cancer finally took her from us and I hope she is now at peace after her long struggle. She passed at home surrounded by her loving family. Lynne is survived by me, Allan (Al) Gillies, her husband of 50 years, our four children and seven grandchildren; Jeffrey, (Margaret), Christopher, Taylor and Ryan of Georgetown, ON; Diana Westwood, (Darrell), Kyle and Rachel of Georgetown, ON; Pamela of Vancouver, BC; Bradley (Cheryl), Kaitlyn and Lauren of Georgetown ON. She will be sadly missed by sisters, Virginia (Louie) Kays of Charlottetown, PEI, Diann and Cindy of Halifax; brothers George (Margaret) Waye and Allan (Carmel) Waye of Halifax. Sister and brother-in-law; Nancy (Peter) Kirkis of Thornbury, ON; Gerald (Terry) Gillies of Kingston, ON and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her mother Irma Harlick (nee Bagnall). Lynne will also be sadly missed by the many friends she has made from coast to coast. Pre-deceased by her grandparents Frank and Ruth Bagnall of Hunter River, PEI, her beloved "Mom" and "Daddy". Also pre-deceased by her loving Aunt Frances Holmes and her father George Lawrence Waye. Lynne was born in Hunter River, PEI and she and I made our home in several places including St. Stephen, NB, Labrador City and many small Ontario towns. Most years were spent in Georgetown, ON and our most recent years in Halifax and Fredericton. She was educated in St. Stephen and Fredericton and over the years actively participated in fund raising for the Cancer Society and other charities. Lynne's passion was skiing and we loved to spend winter days with our many ski buddies on the hills. She loved our homes and gardens and spent many hours painting and decorating. She created loving homes and many friendships wherever we lived. Visitation will be at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Wednesday, January 27th, 2010. A memorial service to be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 28th, 2010 in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation. www.mcadamsfh.com
