REID, EUGENE R. - The death of Mr. Eugene Francis Ronald Reid, of McLaughlin Crescent, Saint John, NB, husband of Dorothy J. (Cashwell) Reid, occurred on Thursday, December 13, 2001, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Ronald and Margaret (Dowd) Reid. Eugene had been employed with Canada Post as a dispatcher, from where he retired after 27 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark's Church, Quispamsis, NB. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his son, Jason (Anne) Clements, and his two daughters Michelle Clements (Paul Saunders), and Faye (Robert) Byers, all of Saint John, three grandchildren, Mark and Nicholas Clements, and Hayley Byers, mother-in-law Shirley Cashwell, one nephew, Jonathan Cashwell, one uncle, James Dowd and several cousins residing in Ireland. He was predeceased by one sister, Maria Reid, and a brother-in-law, John. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row Saint John, NB, (634-7424), with visitation on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at 10:00 AM from St. Mark's Church, Quispamsis, NB. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
