HELEN GORDON LEEFE

LEEFE, HELEN GORDON - The death of Helen Gordon Leefe, occurred on Sunday, January 6, 2002. Born in Saint John, NB on August 10, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Dr. F.G. and Min Sancton. She is survived by one son, John (Nancy) Leefe of Liverpool, NS; grandson Philip (Pascale), Bridgewater, NS; grand-daughter Sarah Leefe, Montreal and great grand-daughters Elyse and Lauren Leefe (Philip). She was pre-deceased by her husband, James G. Leefe CD. She had at various times been active in IODE, Home and School, New Brunswick Historical Society and the Progressive Conservative Party. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Saint John, and for many years was the receptionist/secretary to Dr. John Bewick. She loved her family and cherished lifelong friendships. She took great pride in her native city and its great Loyalist tradition and was herself a descendent of several Loyalist refugees. She had resided at Turnbull Home for the past 9 years, where staff became very much a part of a loving extended family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, on Friday, January 11, 2002 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
