89, Louisbourg With deep sadness we announce the passing of Mabel Fleet, 89, Louisbourg, Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Harbourstone Enhanced, Sydney, with her family at her side. Born in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Alice (Cordeau) Jewell. Mrs. Fleet is survived by sons, Maurice (Elizabeth), Brockville, Ont., Bruce (Claire) Montreal, Que., Cletus (Kathy), Sydney, Greg (Leslie) Regina, Sask., Kevin (Corina), Sydney, N.S.; daughter, Bernadette (Mrs. James Holland), Yorkton, Sask.; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Alphonse Jewell, Montreal, Que., and two sisters, Rose Calver, London, Eng., and Marie Dilney, Sydney. She was predeceased by two children, Robert Daniel and Judith (Mrs. David Vertefeuille) Weyburn, Sask., four sisters, Margaret Maxner, Ceceila Levatte, Viola Ball, Olve Hart, and brother, Rev. John Jewell. Visitation for the late Mrs Fleet will be held Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Stella Maris Church, Main Street, Louisbourg. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday from Stella Maris Church with Fr. Patrick O’Neill. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
