72, New Waterford/Vancouver B.C. With sadness the family of Barbara Barriscale announce her passing on May 9, 2008, at Evergreen Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, B.C., surrounded by her family. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie (Petrie) Conway. She attended Mt. Carmel School and Mt. St. Bernard College, Antigonish. Barbara worked as a secretary in the production department of Pacific Press for many years. Barbara is survived by her husband, Anthony; daughter, Colleen (Bob), sons, Bryan and Glen (Heather) Kirk, all of B.C.; stepchildren Debbie, Kathy, Dennis and Kenneth; by brother, Charles (Marie), Halifax; sister, Priscilla (Neil) Kennedy, New Waterford; stepsister, Isabell (Raphael) Connelly, Peabody, Mass.; sister-in-law, Monique Conway, Montreal; and 16 grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Howard, stepsister, Camilla, and her first husband, Ralph Kirk. Barbara was a fun-loving and cheerful person who enjoyed music, boating and travel, and she was active in her community and church. She will be missed by her many relatives and friends. Under the direction of Kearney Funeral Home, a prayer service and funeral mass were held at St. Stevens Church, North Vancouver, B.C., with burial at Gardens of Gethsemani, Surrey, B.C. May she rest in peace.
