88, Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we, the family, regret to announce the sudden passing of our mother, Evelyn MacDonald at home on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hamilton Ont., Evelyn was the daughter of the late Robert and Mae (Barrlette) Vaters and was a member of Epworth United Church Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Wick) Michalik, Eva (Jack) Sheppard, Arleen Murphy (Terry), Gladys (George) Stonier; sons, Hugh (Yvette), Walter (Ruth), Bob (Ruth), John and David Clarke; sister, Jenny Childs; brother, Norman Vaters; daughters-in-law, Mary and Joan Clarke; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Beside her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Clarke, second husband, Roy MacDonald, daughter, Joan and a daughter, Myrna in infancy, sons, Gerald and Lonnie, son-in-law, Donald O’Neil, sisters, Elsie, Mary and Lillian and a brother, Gordon. There will be no visitation at Evelyn’s request. Funeral will be held Sunday, May 25, 2008, at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home and Chapel 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520, with Rev.
