TONNING, WANDA GERALDINE - The death of Mrs. Wanda G. Tonning, of Rothesay, NB, wife of Dr. Henrik O. Tonning occurred on Tuesday, April 09, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Bristol, NB, daughter of the late Herman U. and Veyda (Davis) Giberson. Wanda graduated from the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. During the War she was an active volunteer with the Red Cross. She was a member of St. Paul's Valley Church and was a member of the Needlework Society, and served as chairperson of the Decorating and Flower Committee for many years. Wanda was also a member of the Union Club and Riverside Golf and Country Club. She is survived by her husband, her two sons, Henrik G. Tonning (Jean) Rothesay, NB, and Stephen Tonning, Memphis, TN as well as her grandchildren; James R., Kare A. and Henrik F. Tonning, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Graydon. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Paul's Valley Church on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 2:00 PM. Following cremation, interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
