HASLETT, JOHN S. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, 2002; John Smith Haslett, husband of Evelyn G. (Masters) Haslett of Quispamsis, NB. Born in Whitehead, NB he was the son of the late Roland A. & Glennie Muriel (Smith) Haslett. John worked hard as a private entrepreneur with a grocery route until he married his wife Evelyn. For many years they were the owners and proprietors of their own grocery business known as Johns' General Store. John was also a contractor who loved heavy equipment, grew trees and shrubs and had a fondness for animals and birds. Surviving in addition to his wife Evelyn of 50 years is his daughter Kathy, 2 brothers Raymond and Roland (Donna) all of Quispamsis, sister Irene Haslett of Ontario, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Scribner. Resting at CASTLE "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB (506-849-1702) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, April 13th, 2002 with service time at 3:00 p.m. The interment will take place later in the spring at St. Lukes Anglican Church Cemetery, Gondola Point, NB. Visiting at the funeral home will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Building Fund - Parish of Hammond River and the Animal Rescue League.
