WHITNEY, L. LILLIAN - The death of Mrs. L. Lillian (Graves) Whitney, of Saint John, wife of the late Harvey Whitney, occurred on Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Black River, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Letitia (Moore) Graves. Lillian was the founding member and past-president of the Seaview Community Club and the Loch Lomond Silver Links. She was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church, Black River, where she served as past-president of the women's auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Marven Whitney and his wife Donna of Saint John, her daughter, Norma Case of Don Mills, ON, one brother, John Graves of Black River, one sister, Iva (Mrs. Charles Little) of Martinon, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her special daughter, Bonnie Atkins of Welsford, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Harvey, and two sons, Hollis and Ernest. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2002 at 1:00PM from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Following cremation, interment will take place at St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Black River, NB on Tuesday at 2:00 PM.
