PARKER, ERNEST A. - 1915 - 2002. Ernest Albert Parker, 86, of Royal Court and formerly of Arlington Dr. Moncton, passed away quietly at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, April 21, 2002, following a brief illness. Born in Public Landing, NB; Ernie was the son of the late Charles and Myrtle (Gregg) Parker. He was a commercial traveller with the Saint John Milling Company and later with Co-op Atlantic. He was a veteran of W.W.II, serving overseas with the Canadian Army in England, Holland and Belgium. Ernie was a life member of Keith Lodge # 23 F.& AM Moncton and was a member and past elder of Wesley Memorial United Church. In his youth he enjoyed sailing on the Saint John River. While his family was growing up, he enjoyed spending time with them at their cottage at Cornwall Point. He loved gardening and was particularly fond of his lovely roses. Ernie is survived by two daughters: Charlotte "Nan" (Brian) Pettipas of Moncton; Janet Mersey of Guelph, On; one son: Richard "Rick" (Donna) of Halifax; three grandsons: Jesse and Daniel of Calgary and Stephen of Halifax and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie C. (Dickson) Parker in 1998 and by his brother Ralph in 1999. There is no visitation by request of the family, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Wesley Memorial United Church, Cameron and St. George Streets Moncton, on Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lloyd Bruce Officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends in the church hall immediately following the service. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wesley Memorial United Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
