RATHBURN, MR. GEORGE WESLEY - The death of Mr. George Wesley Rathburn of Sussex Drive, Saint John, husband of the late Barbara (Bailey) Rathburn, occurred on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Rathburn. George was a mechanic by trade, having worked for Chittick for over 30 years until his retirement. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Rathburn and Kimberley Rathburn (Andrew), both of Saint John, one step-son, Bryan Bailey of Toronto, one step-daughter, Ann Bailey (Larry), three brothers, John of Grand Bay- Westfield, Irvine of Browns Flat, and Delbert of Lorneville, two sisters, Sally Richards of Browns Flat, and Margaret Lindsay, five grandchildren, Kara, Christopher, Shayla, Meghan, and Matthew, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2002 at 2:15 PM from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
