65, Sydney Shirley Ernestine Anderson, 65, of Tillock Drive, Sydney, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after suffering several illnesses and a liver transplant. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Nellie (Morrison) Steele and the late Hubert Steele. Shirley was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Sydney. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Kent; daughter, Cheryl (Kevin) Doyle, Sydney; son, Greg, Sydney; sisters, Sharon (Emile) Mazerolle and Donna (Bob) Greer, Saint John, N.B.; brothers, David (Brenda), Moncton, and Rodney, Sydney; grandchildren, Kathryn and Joshua Doyle; great-grandson, Zachary; several nieces and nephews. Visitaiton will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday in the chapel with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating.
