M. Viola Farrell

Sydney Mines It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of their mother Mary Viola Farrell, on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at her residence in Sydney Mines. Born in North Sydney, Viola was the only daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (MacDonald) Rose. For many years she worked for Elections Canada, enumerating, where she enjoyed ‘catching up’ with old friends on Gannon Road. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. She is survived by her loving children, her four daughters, Catherine, Ann, Elizabeth and Frances, all of Sydney Mines, and her two sons, Bill (Carol Ann), Kentville, and Daniel (Elsie), Lower Sackville; her four grandchildren, especially Londa Farrell, whom she was very close to and two great-grandchildren. Viola was predeceased by her husband, William. A private visitation and service will be held for Viola at a later date with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating and burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
