ROY JAMES SR. HALL

HALL, ROY JAMES SR. - Peacefully, at his residence, 844 Route 770, Bonny River, NB on June 2, 2002, Mr. Roy James Hall Sr., husband of the late Hester Marion (Craig) Hall. Born in Clarence Ridge, NB January 2, 1918, he was a son of the late George and Jenny (Bell) Hall. A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by two sons, Roy Hall Jr. and Lewis Hall (Jeanine), both of Bonny River; five daughters, Edith (Gerald) Thompson of St. George; Karen (Ian) Webb of Ontario; Anne (Claude) Leberge of Miramichi; Berla (Kevin) of Sussex,NB and Donna (Wink) Holt of St. Andrews, NB; 17 Grandchildren, including two special grandchildren, Michelle Hache (Marc Andre) and William Hall (Corina); 19 Great Grandchildren; one sister, Theda (James) Clarke of Calais, Maine; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, one son, Keith and two brothers, Ronald and Wes. Roy was a Millwright and Mechanic by trade and had previously worked for St. George Pulp and Paper; Lake Utopia Pulp and Paper and Mount Pleasant Mines. He was a gifted auto mechanic, an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Roy was a veteran of WW2, serving with the North Shore Regiment in Holland, France and Normandy. He was an active member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No 40, St. George. Resting at the St. George United Baptist Church, 25 Main Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held on Wednesday at 2 PM followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the Church on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Legion Tribute will be conducted at the church Tuesday at 7:30 PM. In Roy's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
