‘Jimmy Calaman’ MacNeil John James ‘Jimmy C%1Fn’ MacNeil of 76 St. Columbia, Victoria County, died June 8, 2008, in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck. Born in Benacadie, he was a son of adoptive parents Malcolm and Mary Elizabeth (MacLean) MacNeil. He was a farmer and a member of St. Columbia parish, Iona. Jimmy loved to play the bagpipes and take part in singing Gaelic songs. He is survived by brother, Michael Joseph MacNeil, Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff of Alderwood Rest Home for the excellent care Jimmy Calaman received. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, June 11 in the St. Columba Parish Centre, Iona, and funeral 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12 in St. Columba parish, Iona, Rev. Charles Donovan officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alderwood Rest Home or St. Columba Cemetery Fund.
